About the event

The main purpose of a jig is to provide repeatability, accuracy and interchangeability in the manufacturing of products. Creating a jig for your project can save you an enormous amount of time and energy. The key is knowing when a jig would be useful, and how to create one that suits the needs of your project. Our teacher Tom Parker is passionate about the potential that a good jig brings to a project and loves to create his own whenever possible. In this workshop, Tom will talk all about jigs, when, how, and why to use them. We’ll have a hands-on opportunity to create our own jig and then use it to perform a task with accuracy and repeatability. While this workshop will not focus on Power Tool skills specifically, participants will also receive a brief tutorial on the power tools needed to create our jigs.

Please note: this workshop takes place in a different location than our usual workshops. The class will take place at the RDM Workshop in Lower Price Hill - 2145 Hatmaker Street 45204. Look for a short building with a blue door. Free parking along the street in front or in the lot behind to the building.
